01Sources of drift
The census updates on MCS-150 filing, which is required biennially rather than on change, and publication to the public dataset lags the filing itself. A record eighteen months behind current operations is within normal range.
02Fields that matter
power_units- Determines the fee bracket. The order form displays the registry figure alongside the field and records a stated reason where the two differ.
phy_state- Determines the base state, and therefore which state receives the registration fee.
- Legal name, officer
- No pricing effect; appear on the filing and should be correct.
03Limits
Corrections entered on our form apply to the filing we make. They do not amend the FMCSA record, which is updated only by filing an MCS-150. Where details have genuinely changed, do both.
| BOC-3 process agents | Designation of agents for service of process in every state, and why the filing must come from a blanket company. |
|---|---|
| UCR applicability | Which operations are in scope: carriers, brokers, forwarders, leasing companies, and the zero-vehicle cases. |
| UCR fee schedule | Six brackets by power-unit count, each with one all-in total for the registration year. |
